From October 9-11, Mr. McTier had the privilege of representing Alief ISD at the annual Met Conference in New York City. Alief ISD is one of only four districts in Texas to participate in this prestigious program. Mr. McTier was also honored to lead a panel discussion on how Alief ISD successfully launched the program in its first year.
During the conference, Mr. McTier made valuable connections, from meeting the writer of the opera Grounded to connecting with a renowned baritone who will be visiting Houston this year to conduct a masterclass for his students. He plans to incorporate some of the innovative ideas from the conference to further strengthen the program’s impact in Alief ISD for years to come.
Mr. McTier would like to express his gratitude to Mr. Joseph and Ms. Miller for their support in bringing this transformative program to Alief ISD and its students.
