Earning a spot in the Texas All-State Jazz Band through the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) is one of the highest honors for high school jazz musicians in Texas. It involves a rigorous audition process where students prepare and perform challenging jazz etudes, scales, and improvisation. Musicians compete at the region, area, and state levels, showcasing exceptional technical skills, musicality, and artistry. Being selected demonstrates outstanding talent, dedication, and a deep understanding of jazz music, placing the student among the most elite young musicians in the state. TMEA All-State Concerts will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio (900 E. Market Street).
